Ye Olde League Cup Thread

You crack me up mate. Its just a crying shame he didnt get that chance in Italy though, man that would have been good to see.

Big Mick is still revered in Italy for captaining his country to a World Cup quarter-final place there. Our greatest ever captain, our greatest ever manager.

 no shame in liverpool getting knocked out by the team they aspire to be.watched last 30 mins and thought it was funny stuff listinging to the swans fans singing ā€œyour as shit as swanseaā€
louis had 3/4 good chances to draw the gameā€¦didnt even hit the target with one of them.he did grab a goal after a scramble on the goal line.
very strong pool team out too

Bit of magic there from Hazard to seal the win for Chelsea.

giggs should have had a straight red thereā€¦
utd should have had at least 2 lads sent off tonight

pen for utdā€¦

5-4 chelseaā€¦game over

Missed the game ā€¦ What decisions were we denied tonight?

Jumpers for goalposts again tonight. The Milk Cup is the most exciting football competition around.

The Dundalk Blues will be happy with that result for the European Champions.

Punched above their weight with the team they had compared to Chelsea. Just annoyed they lost the lead so late on.

Andersonsonson with three assists before running out of steam.

Bad blow for Manchester United getting knocked out of the only competition they had a realistic chance of winning.

That group of players will walk the reserve league pal.

Get on with the draw.

Would have been nice to give a couple of the younger lads a run out in the next round, but thatā€™s the extent to which it matters really. Chelseaā€™s strength on the bench told in the end, and they looked much the better team when Hazard and Oscar came on. In brief:

  • Wooton looked badly out of his depth. Keane got worse as the game went on, but it canā€™t have been easy for him playing alongside someone having a nightmare. Might have done better with a more experienced centre back alongside him, but that wasnā€™t really an option given weā€™ve only had two fit centre backs for the last two months and they needed to be rested.
  • Buttner looks like an absolute dogshit defender. He wonā€™t be at the club next season, and the search for a left back to challenge/replace Evra goes on.
  • Anderson had one of those games where you think he might actually be a decent player. It happens from time to time, then he gets injured and comes back the size of a house.
  • Powell looked assured on the ball, and he certainly has a good shot in him. Could be a decent player, need more evidence though. Tunnicliffe less so.
  • Hernandez is looking nice and sharp at the moment.

Agree with most of that. Buttner was shocking. Moses tortured him till he was hauled off at half time. Powell looks a great prospect. Wotton and Keane playing together was Uniteds downfall. You could play one with a Ferdinand or Vidic but not together. Fletcher was put in a tough spot having to drop in to right back while Rafael had to switch to the left. Out of the 11 that started tonight only Rafael is going to play Saturday so they should be fresh enough for Arsenal this coming Saturday lunchtime.

Was it on this site that I read that the dutch journalists couldnā€™t believe that United had signed Buttner? Looked very poor last night. Even though he plays for just the wrongest team ever, Juan Mata is just a superb player and how he canā€™t get in the Spanish squad is beyond me.

Please take the time to rephrase that my good man.

Another crazy night again, happy to draw chelsea next round and
take 'em down a peg or too

Who is we? fire up the draw there please dara.
