You Are Not Stuck In Covid, You Are Covid Part 6 of infinite

Well, this thing is an utter farce.
My lad has covid (he remains cheerful as ever, albeit with a heavy cold).
I work for three places at present.
At two, Iā€™m not allowed in the door no matter what.
The third have just asked if I can do extra work there instead (when I rang to explain the situation)
You couldnā€™t make it up.

Thatā€™s great buddy but the same chap was predicting months ago there would be no surges in hospitalisations in Britain and no surge in deaths.

He was categorically wrong.

This is what happens when people adopt a quasi-religious stance.

And people like him have been making the same mistakes over and over and over again for the last 22 months.

During the World Wars almost the entire productive capacity of major nations was put to use to producing the things that would win those wars.

Youā€™d think it wouldnā€™t have been beyond major nations to put their productive capacity to use to mass produce N95 masks and distribute them to the world, for free.

Would probably save a hell of a lot of money in the long run. And itā€™s also better than mass producing bullets and bombs to kill people, as happened during the World Wars.

So you want the governments to seize control of private industries ?

Hitler was a big threat than covid.

You wonā€™t hear pseudo left winger The Doxxer raise the point how abhorrent Big Pharma are. Shows how insincere he is.

Bernie is a good man and a genuine one unlike those vile Clintons.

Could you give me a well thought out argument as to why we should not do what I outlined in the previous post?

In response to your pithy question, the US already has the Defense Production Act.

The Act contains three major sections. The first authorizes the president to require businesses to accept and prioritize contracts for materials deemed necessary for national defense, regardless of a loss incurred on business. The law also allows the president to designate materials to be prohibited from hoarding or price gouging.[2] The law does not state what would occur if a business refuses or is unable to complete a request on time. However, any person who performs any act prohibited or willfully fails to perform any act required by the Defense Production Act may be charged with a felony that results in a fine up to $10,000 or imprisonment for up to one year or both.[3][4] The second section authorizes the president to establish mechanisms (such as regulations, orders or agencies) to allocate materials, services and facilities to promote national defense. The third section authorizes the president to control the civilian economy so that scarce and critical materials necessary to the national defense effort are available for defense needs.[5][6][7]

The Act also authorizes the President to requisition property, force industry to expand production and the supply of basic resources, settle labor disputes, control consumer and real estate credit, establish contractual priorities, and allocate raw materials towards national defense.[5]

The presidentā€™s designation of products under the jurisdiction of the DPA is the authority of the Act most often used by the Department of Defense (DOD) since the 1970s. Most of the other functions of the Act are administered by the Office of Strategic Industries and Economic Security (SIES) in the Bureau of Industry and Security in the Department of Commerce.[8]

The Defense Priorities and Allocations System institutes a rating system for contracts and purchase orders.[9] The highest priority is DX , which must be approved by the Secretary of Defense. The next level down is DO , and below that are unrated contracts.

It is extremely important that we create mass chronic illness in the population and sow the seeds for an epidemic of neurodegenerative disease.

We must not let up.

The FCA could be dispatched to the next anti-vaxx march organised by these assorted fascists. Pick them off one by one and vaccinate the fuck out of them.

Iā€™m against mandatory vaccination as it infringes on peoplesā€™ personal liberties. The unvaccinated should simply cocoon in their homes until such time as it is safe to allow them out. Fines, arrests, and prosecution for breaking the rules would assist. Remove them from society and the rest of us be able to go about our lives in a restriction free environment.
