It’s not. Tyrone would need to win and see Mayo beaten by Monaghan to make the final. Its possible Galway could win and still not make the final but odds are a win would be enough for them.

When the reporter confirms he doesn’t know what day of the week it is in the 1st paragraph it’s hard to be bothered reading much further.
Joanne is some dope, following in the long tradition of RTE Sport staff not having a clue regarding permutations and qualification.
They put the table up on screen. Kerry on 10, Mayo and Galway on 8 and Tyrone with 7.
“Tyrone not really in it anymore” says Joanne, completely disregarding the entirely conceivable possibility that Tyrone beat Galway at home and Mayo lose to relegation threatened Monaghan. If it does happen, she’ll be there with Frehill or Cahill on Sunday Sport next weekend acting as if some miraculous, impossible permutation has come to pass.

That was a proper contest tonight in tralee. Kerry won’t do with what they are fielding 6 8 9. They will be better in good conditions and without walsh but still a soft centre.

Moran will be 31 this summer. Same problem as walsh. Injuries and age catch up.
