The fellas who think it’s all a cod are easier to understand but the likes of you @Tierneevin1979 and @Tim_Riggins who think it’s a real dangerous virus but are adamant lockdowns arent the answer confuse me.

I’m more sanguine about a lockdown for the next couple of months on the proviso we properly subsidise businesses closed and that this is the end of it.

You answered your own question. You have to stay locked down indefinitely which is not just not practical but as we are discovering not possible. When enough people have decided getting infected is less of a concern than being in lockdown you have lost the battle.

It’s remarkable to think that Sweden who never had a lockdown are done with Covid while the rest of the western world are either still in lockdown six months later or looking at re imposing lockdowns. I’m not sure to be honest. Like the swab is confirmed positive but I’m not sure where the backlog occurs between a positive swab to a case being confirmed in the figures announced on the news.

We are subsidising businesses here. We gave one of the biggest businesses in the world a 13bn tax write off recently enough. Even paid their legal fees.
