Iâd say Clifford is comparable to maradona in his fame and quality. (Minus the woman beating and drugs)
The Dublin players are more akin to Man City where itâs a team effort.
Clifford is a one man band.
Even the lack of social media creates a mystic about Clifford compared to all other gaa players.
You could see a scenario where he is snuck out of a training in Tralee or Killarney in the boot of a random car.
There are very few examples of where real greatness is crossed with a maverick type persona.
Cheasty:
How does that make him an ape?
I was cheering for Louth against Dublin this year and a lot of Dublin supporters were likely doing the same.
Flynn apologised for a comment where he had absolutely no need to apologise, because a load of snowflakes wet the bed. Flynner was really nice about it, he was thinking of the well being of those snowflakes.
BruidheanChaorthainn:
It real irks the dubs.
Weâve had 15 months of endless fun off the back of that tweet and more to come.
Keep digging!
The tweet lacks class. It doesnât matter how much fun you have.
It just highlighted how much Cliffordâs fame melted the Dublin 6 in a rows team.

Mate, Clifford was vaunted as the man who was going to destroy Dublin. Instead, he was smoked by Mick Fitz.
We were very kind and considerate about it all really.

When you are tweeting about individual players on opposing side after a final you really lost no matter what happens on the field.
Cheasty:
No, youâve won.
You havenât.
He lost.
He made a holy show of himself.
It highlighted how uncomfortable Dublin players are with their success.

Oh theyâre deeply uncomfortable. Like Eric Bristow and Alexander of Macedonia.
Well after victory they were desperately point scoring on twitter.

Clifford was supposed to be the one doing the point scoring but he kept kicking the ball up in the air and as wide as a fucking gate.
Strange Flynn had to go on a deleting spree the following morning when he sobered up.
Clifford is arkle and it drives the Dublin fans nuts.

Em it was the fans of Clifford who went nuts over the tweet, mate. Flynner was so nice to take their feelings into account though.
You donât really want a horse on a Gaelic football pitch, unless itâs Horse Devlin, who the Kerry supporters were very angry at too. It must be only certain types of animals they like to be involved in Gaelic football down in Kerry.
Look it, I suppose Arkle never shit the bed in an All-Ireland at least, so he might have been more use than Clifford was.
Gerry McInerney was probably the most recognisable player on that Galway team. Iâd say Nicky English was far more recognisable than most of the Tipp players you mentioned also

Mick Fitzsimmons smoked him by standing nearby watching shots go wide

Fitzy gave Clifford one handshake and one look at the start of the game. He said nothing but he looked him in the eye. Clifford looked away. That was all that was needed.

Twas like when Pele let the ball run, rounded the keeper and drove it wide in that world cup match.

Thatâs a tremendous post.
Do u think Paul Mecallâs fame âmeltedâ them too or is it just Clifford?
