This whole gig is now heading for a replay, extra time and penalties. You heard it here first. This dail will be more hung than a jockies bollox.

Iā€™d never be one to accuse anyone of double standards

follow link for evidence of double standards

I donā€™t know what youā€™re trying to say here. There was an even split of no contest in constituencies between pro and anti treaty actions. Where there was action there was 75% for pro treaty candidates.

How is it double standards?

Less than a majority who voted in 1918 went for Republicans.

A majority of 75% who voted in 1922 went for the pro treaty dominion status.

Jesus weā€™re all in great form here today.

Pipe down we heard you when you said it last week.

Enda will be interviewed live by Dobbo on six one news in a while.

30 what :joy:

Well in one case we can isolate a 47% vote and say that it is not evidence of a mandate and in the other we can make all manner of supposition to render a 38% vote an immutable mandate.

In one case we can disregard the impact of unopposed candidates and in the other we canā€™t.

Thatā€™s all really.

You are equivocating a 38% turnout vs a 47% percentage of a vote. They arenā€™t the same.

It was 16 vs 17 unopposed constituencies. There was a clear mandate for the Treaty from the people of Ireland.

Iā€™m not asserting that there wasnā€™t. Iā€™m merely pointing out that your treatment of the votes in the 1918 and 1922 elections are different. Thatā€™s all.

Niall Collins again today ruling out in the strongest possible way any coalition between FF & FG.

He also promised in the Limerick county peoples debate that he was so sure this would not happen, that FF were so against it, that he would resign his seat if it came to pass.

A FG/FF coalition is now 4/6 with Paddy Power and this slippery bastard denying it will happen and promising it wonā€™t happen with every fibre of his being. :rage:

She can kiss goodbye to being nominated ever again

Iā€™m not. Iā€™m working on percentages.
