The Kyle wrecks your head thread

Itā€™s the 30 hours a week training figure that will have other counties looking at their schedule and wondering how will they ever catch up. I know the figure probably refers to pre season but what would their schedule look like at the moment? Take out Sunday for a Munster league/ National League game and probably Saturday as anyone playing will be resting up. Thatā€™s 6 hours a day for some of the 30 hour figure is true?

The real team will be training either before or after that match.

Iā€™d imagine the 30 hour figure includes matches. Their training schedule is pretty well flagged at this stage. 2 nights on the field and 2 in the gym.

Meh. Kielys only in there giving character references because he needs Hayes for his hurling. As a school principal Iā€™m sure heā€™s had plenty of opportunities to give character references - Iā€™d be fairly confident that this isnā€™t something he does that often if at all. This is a case of expediency and exceptionalism on Kielys behalf and should be called out as such.

Is anyone surprised that Kiely confirmed the near full time regime in place with the Limerick senior hurling team?

Hard believe GAA players get a lot of focus in a country where itā€™s our most popular pastime. Hard believe a member of a 5 in a row chasing team is getting a lot of attention. Itā€™s all so hard to believe.

It might be also possible that he likes the kid and realises he did something really stupid.

Lot of guessing in there. Iā€™m surprised the character witness was given in person, usually theyā€™re just letters and Iā€™m sure Kiely has written a few for Abbey lads in the past. If Iā€™d soldiered on a team with a manager winning multiple All Irelands Iā€™d be hoping heā€™d give me a character witness too.

Sure, but the main reason that heā€™s attaching his reputation to Hayes is the hurling I would have thought.

Happy to be proved wrong with lots of other examples of him giving similar character references

Is it possible he only gives references to people he likes? People he feels deserve them?

Claiming that he ā€œaccepted responsibilityā€ was a little bit beyond a character reference too. Iā€™d say thatā€™s what provoked the barrister

Of course.

Fairly fortunate that one of those happens to be a star player in a team he manages

No matter what you did?

Donā€™t think itā€™d be much use on a murder or rape trial but in one where heā€™s been found not guilty of assault causing harm, for sure

Aye, itā€™s almost like heā€™s deserving of it in his eyes

The @Limericks on the COTY thread, 19/1/24 : fuck DJ Carey, you shouldnā€™t take his hurling career into account when calling him out.

The @Limericks on the Kyle Hayes thread, 19/1/24 : ye are all jealous, leave poor Kyler alone, heā€™s sound and he has won 5 all irelands and heā€™ll win more.

If would be extremely rare for a prosecutor to challenge and cross examine a character witness. The prosecutor was correct to do so here as a lot of what Kiely had to say was risible and went well beyond his remit.

There is a weekend in AFL after the season is over when all the teams have a weekend away

Rapes , assaults have all occurred these weekends

Iā€™d have the full fry laid on for him with the cuppa. Heā€™s Kyle Hayes, he can do as he wants.

Do you think someone might have shown some growth 5 years on from the event?
