Does anybody know what “AILINATINATED” means?

Is it something to do with the AIL in rugby?

I’m a bit conflicted here :grinning:

Gemma is a credit to her nation.

The Aryan nation?

The Irish right wing media despise her.

Ray has been well mugged off there.

Some fucking weirdo’s all the same.

There is a lengthy feature about Gemma in the front of this month’s Village Magazine.

They start by covering their own ass. Gemma used to write for them of course but they say there was no racism from her back then. They talk about all the other respectable publications that she used to write for, like the Guardian.

Then they talk about her turning into a conspiracy theorist. They say they endorsed Miggledy for President against her because of her conspiracy theories. Interestingly, they stress that as far as they’re concerned she still wasn’t a racist back then.

They say she turned racist after the election. Then they say she should be arrested for incitement of hatred.

Then they talk about her Barrow Street / Twitter protests. There was a photo taken of one of her supporters giving a Nazi salute. Gemma says it’s a fifth-column spy/plant. They offer €1000 to anyone who identifies “naziboy”.

Then they talk about some of the anti-Gemma protesters, some of whom have refused to talk to Village Magazine because they used to employ Gemma and then subsequently have attacked Village Magazine for not publishing the threats that Gemma’s supporters have made against them.

They finish up by saying that even if Gemma should be arrested it’s still not fair to call her a full-blown nazi.

There was an online statement by Village magazine about three or four weeks ago in which they distanced themselves from her along the lines of what you outline above

I’m not sure if it’s the exact same piece you refer to or if what’s in the magazine is a longer version

While it is good that the magazine has finally cut ties with her, the statement managed to combine about five different forms of cowardice in the mealy mouthed way it tried to cover its own arse, when in reality it coddled, appeased and platformed her far, far longer than was in any way defensible

The latest anybody with even a cursory interest in what goes on in Irish current affairs could credibly have claimed to have been unaware of what O’Doherty’s real agenda was, was about August 2018, and you’d have to have been either a thicko or not own a phone or a computer to have been that late

To any reasonably clued in person, it was obvious from 2016

At what point in 2016 did it become obvious?

That blondey haired knacker could do with a long walk off a short pier in fairness.

When she supported Trump

When you’re supporting an outright racist shit it should be pretty obvious you’re a racist shit yourself

The conspiracy theory stuff was becoming obvious then too and that ties in perfectly with support for Trump

Outlandish online conspiracy theorism is very much a gateway to race hatred, it requires the conspiracy theorist to completely lower their defences to paranoid rhetoric and thus opens the holder up to buying into the most extreme sort of hatred - online conspiracy theorism of the 9/11 type is a form of demagoguery in itself

Her behaviour around the Mary Boyle case made it quite clear that her actual journalism was poor, but most ignored it.

On the other hand her doorstepping of Callinan did the state some service, even if the Oirish media tried to silence the story.

Yep. One of the biggest buildings in the world I think. It was top ten at one stage.

A real family. Who would have thunk it?

The Establishment have toyed with her mental health and tried to portray her as crazy because she was uncovering corruption.
