To be fair the Kieran’s team is practically the county minor team, that doesn’t happen in most schools which could explain their success
Lookit KK won’t be going away and will always be thereabouts, the next crop will be compared with the 00’s team as the benchmark but reaching those heights or success I can’t see happening again by any county in my lifetime. KK will be rebuilding but will certainly be in the mix over the next few years without dominating
Ya that kinda domination is rare. Usually hunger is an issue and/or other teams figure you out. They were just special.
Castlecomer
Cody will stay on too long and try to pick his successor.
McGarry was one of his chosen ones I’d have thought but maybe not anymore.
Shefflin, unless he gets too soft with the media and €€€€, will be a Kilkenny manager at some point.
JJ , I would say; in tandem with PJ
I wrote this in March 2014 long before Bourke/De Burca made his championnship debut.
I feel vindicated.
which PJ?
The younger PJ Delaney, not Pat’s son
I sincerely hope this happens.
The kk dressing room will be like an “I suppose” echo chamber.
I can’t wait to hear about Shefflin’s inspirational half-time motivational speech during the first round qualifier* in 2020.
“We are…winners!”
Westmeath win by 10 points.
*Such a fixture will likely not exist in 2020.
Shefflin dished up some plate of sour grapes in the Sunday Times yesterday. Of course he made the point that it wasn’t t sour grapes.
Are you in implying his opinion has no basis?
He’s not very likeable.
Are you implying he actually wrote it?
It’s amazing a lad that played as much hurling as Shefflin doesn’t understand what he was looking at. Take a mental picture of each Waterford goal. What did they all have in common. Apart from Padraig Walsh flapping helplessly. Space. They all involved the Waterford forward in acres of space on the 21 yd line. The ability to create that amount of space numerous times ( at least 6 times - we butchered one chance and there was a professional foul for another) is “negativity” and being “too tactical”. As opposed to Kilkenny who scrummaged their way to two goals
I truly love John Mullane, he’s as honest as the day is long. Straight out honesty with no ould shit about him.
I’m so happy for him and Waterford people and there’s nothing that would please me more than to see them go on now and win the A I. Hon the Deise!! Mullane and Dan Shanahan, phew, if only we had men like the in Limerick.
Did you see Maurice grabbing his crest after his goal. It was just like the good old days all over again.
