I cant see it mate.

It was 3 weeks to flatten the curve nearly a year ago sure now.

If there is respitory illness in the community over winter months going forward, the precedent is there now.

Bit of tongue in cheek there but - our government have admitted they’ve no appetite to push back.

Why do you say that? What reason do you see for restricting mass gatherings in say, September, with 70-80% of the population vaccinated?

Because Tony will say so.

The narrative is slowly shifting mate, the vaccines won’t protect from covid fully so that’ll be a tool to use with social distancing, washing your hands, mask wearing and restrictions unfortunately.

I don’t agree with that obviously, but some of these scientists are zero covid fascists and seem to have serious power over governments including our own FFG shambles.

200 posts to catch up on … And surprisingly , it’s full of the same chatter from the same posters as the previous 10,000 posts.

I don’t see the reason for that mate to be honest.

There is one possible reason for effort to stop further spread for a time, and that’s to stop mutations because the fear is a mutation arises that undoes all the vaccination work. To be honest I think that’s a weak enough reason, and there’d be no point in us doing that unless the UK and the EU were taking the same approach, and I doubt they will.

Only so many times lads can run off steam kid on the lockdown 5k challenge thread.

Lads need to embrace some meditation

Oxford are already working on their new vaccine mate apparently to cope with the mutations. I hear you regarding the UK and EU opening up and us following their lead.

I just don’t see it going back to February 2020 until at least mid 2022. Sincerely hope I’m wrong.

The fear porn from RTE and all other media has people frightened out of their minds. We are at the mercy of Tony Holohan and Co.

no- way too conservative
we should be opening once everyone over median age of death is vaccinated
ok … within 1 stdev of that maybe
so 83-4(maybe)
lets say open everything once everyone over 77 ( to be ultra safe) is vaccinated
the rest don’t give a fuck

also proof that we (tony) want to keep the virus alive in the community

It’ll become more clear in the next couple months how it will go.

I think that consensus will emerge on what we can have and when. I mean, if Germany decides we can have bars and clubs when we hit 70% then everyone follows suit.

Mediation is great - but lets say this goes on another 12 months,

What good is it to peoples small businesses that are gone at that stage forever.

The PUP is grand at 350 a week, that won’t last - not a hope.

Did I genuinely just read a post where one clown actually thinks we can stop a coronavirus from mutating?

You’re dead right - hopefully some sense will prevail there.

Its our only hope really. There’s no political will here to take a brave stance on it unfortunately.

you’re 100% correct
obviously hope you’re/I’m wrong but optics suggest otherwise
i pitched early doors that you wont see reasonable crowds in football stadia till the beginning of the 2022/23 football league season- based on the behaviour of NEPHET and trends we see i have no reason to doubt that claim…

i feel sorry for the lads who genuienly believe that making these sacrifices is helping and they’re working towards some reward by adhering to all the lockdown criteria…none of us have any control in the outcome of this once the current mode of operation is followed and we choose to keep the virus alive in the community and decide that people’s mental health, livelehoods, family life, well being and the well being of children pale into signifigance to the imprtance of low case numbers for a bug that is virtually harmless to those under 75

You are wrong. Unfortunately. It won’t be going back to February 2020, period.

What do you predict going forward?

My footix trip to Barca in January 2020 was extremely well timed
