In my view they need to be a straight talker, who is not afraid of an argument, and has a proven, unimpeachable record of genuinely helping people.

They must also not be Bob Geldof.

Not to agree too much with OP, but it does irk me a bit how most of the time celebrities (or basically anyone) wants to “shed light on mental illness” it’s depression or anxiety. The more taboo ones? Nooooope. I hate when those things are used as part of a ‘tortured artist’ persona too.
